The Choir of Clare College, Cambridge
Parish Church of St Peter & St Paul, Fenstanton
Graham Ross | director
Joy Lisney | ‘cello
Since the founding of a mixed voice choir in 1971, the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge has gained an international reputation as one of the leading university choral groups in the world. In addition to its primary function of leading services three times a week in the College chapel, the choir, under the direction of Graham Ross, keeps an active schedule recording, broadcasting and performing throughout the UK and the world.
"If you ever needed confirmation of the fantastically high standard of choral singing that exists in the UK, look, or rather, hear no further than the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge."
The Choir of Clare College presents an unmissable programme to open the 2013 Fringe in the Fen Festival. They will perform 'Music for Passiontide': beautiful a cappella works for Holy Week spanning across the centuries, including works for choir and cello by Tarik O'Regan and the UK premiere of 'Night Flight' by Cecilia McDowall.
We will be welcoming Joy Lisney as an accompanist on the ‘cello, also from Clare College, Cambridge. She is pursuing an international career, having performed at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and two tours of the Benelux countries. She has a great year lined up, with appearances in Cheltenham and Limburg, as well as a tour of Canada.
